GREENWICH, Conn. -- The Ty Louis Campbell Foundation recently hosted its first annual cocktail party, casino night and auction at the Hyatt Regency Greenwich, grossing $45,000 for childhood cancer research.

All proceeds from the event will directly fund innovative childhood cancer research in memory of Ty Campbell, a young boy from Pawling, N.Y., who lost his battle with brain cancer in 2012.

The Share the Love Valentine’s Day fundraiser was attended by more than 175 supporters of the cause from the Greenwich, Stamford, Fairfield, Westchester County and Dutchess County communities.

Also in attendance was the newest celebrity ambassador for the foundation, actress Emily Peachey. She stars in the upcoming film, "The Fault in our Stars," alongside William Dafoe, Shailene Woodley and Laura Dern. Based on the New York Times Bestseller by John Green, the film is about a young couple who fall in love after meeting at a childhood cancer support group.

Peachey became an ambassador for the Ty Louis Campbell Foundation and advocate for the cause since working with several children with cancer on-set.

The Ty Louis Campbell Foundation is a volunteer-run nonprofit organization that funds innovative research and technology specifically geared toward the treatment of the deadliest childhood cancers. The organization seeks less toxic, more effective treatments that are specifically designed for children fighting cancer.
