GREENWICH, Conn. Greenwich artist Alana Klinka will host a gallery opening Wednesday at the Byram Shubert Library for her latest work entitled "Nature Ratio" that will run from Aug. 1 until the end of the month, according to the library's events information page.
Pulling from memories of nature, Klinka created paintings, origami, sculptures and jewelry to create a distorted impression.
"It's taking patterns and repetitions you see in nature and pulling them into art," Klinka said. Her art was created using materials such as acrylic, wood and spraypaint.
Her last show at Byram Library focused on textiles and landscape, Klinka said, and this time she wanted to do something different.
"This is more abstract art with themes of insects and a little bit of landscape," she said.
Klinka studied at Tufts University and at the Museum School in Boston. The opening and reception will run from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m.
