Vogel is featured in the latest “Muppet Thought of the Week” video doing a not-too-shabby impression of his idol, the late Muppets creator Jim Henson.

The puppeteer, who has worked for the Jim Henson Company since the 1990s, was chosen as just the third person to voice Miss Piggy’s paramour, following Henson and Steve Whitmire, who assumed the role after Henson’s death in 1990.

No stranger to the Muppet world, Vogel has served as assistant puppeteer for Ernie and worked as Big Bird from time to time, according to Wikipedia.

Vogel has also taken over characters originated by Jerry Nelson, including Floyd Pepper, Lew Zealand, Crazy Harry, Robin the Frog and Camilla the Chicken since 2008. He has been the puppeteer for The Count since 2012 and has voiced the popular character since 2013.

Vogel also performed the Muppets that were used to illustrate Kenneth’s view of the world in the “30 Rock” episode “Apollo, Apollo.”
