GREENWICH, Conn. -- Talk show host Lisa Wexler, long a fixture on 1230 WFAS-AM in White Plains has moved her show to 1490 WGCH-AM deep in the heart of Greenwich.

The show is still the same format with the same mantra: "If you're thinking about it, Lisa is talking about it." But being deep in the heart of Greenwich on Lewis Street, , as Wexler points out, means she can walk outside, talk to people and be in the "thick of it." (See previous Daily Voice story here .).

The Westport resident, who also works as a probate judge for the Westport/Weston district, says she's also happy to be working for a company that is locally owned, in this case by the Forte Family Broadcasting Co., led by Rocco Forte.

Local topics such as land usage, cultural events, and educational trends and challenges provide much of the material for the show, while Wexler also keeps in mind her other role as judge.

In other words, "I let the audience form their own opinions," she said.

She's also big on sprinkling her in her other passions, like parenting (she's the mother of two young adults), relationships (she's been married to the same man for 33 years) and neighbors helping neighbors.

Among her top priorities is her involvement with Acorda Therapeutics , which develops therapies that restore function and improve the lives of people with neurological disorders.

In partnership with the Ardsley, N.Y.-based company, Wexler developed the Acorda Scientific Excellence Award, created to encourage young people to pursue careers in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math.) One student per week from a host of Westchester high schools is selected to receive the award during the school year, with the winner interviewed on Wexler's show, the Acorda Scientific Excellence Award program. The school also receives a plaque.

In the two years since the partnership has been in operation, more than 40 kids have been recognized. Wexler plans to bring to the program to Fairfield County schools this September. Go here for information about the award

It's all part of Wexler's second mantra, which is "turn your brain on."

"I want to be the voice you hear at the end of the day that is both entertaining and informational and gives you the cutting edge details of what's going on in the world," she said. "It's a big world. I have a lot to say."

Stay tuned. Her first official show started Monday, July 6 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m Monday to Friday. Go to for more information.
