Fairfield County Community Foundation CEO Named To Power 300 List

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Fairfield County's Community Foundation President and CEO Juanita T. James has been named among the most influential black corporate directors by Savoy Magazine.

Savoy Magazine, a leading African-American culture, business and lifestyle publication, selected James for inclusion on its "Power 300: 2015 Most Influential Black Corporate Directors" list because of her role as Director of the Asbury Automotive Group, headquarters in Duluth, GA. The announcement was made with the release of Savoy's summer issue.

James was Chief Marketing & Communications Officer for Pitney Bowes. Prior to Pitney Bowes, James built a 20-year career in the media and entertainment industry with Time Warner, Inc. and Bertelsmann, Inc. Currently, James is president and CEO at Fairfield County’s Community Foundation. 

In addition to her corporate directorship, James also plays a community leadership role. She is a Corporator for First County Bank, and a Trustee of Lesley University in Cambridge, Mass., as well as a Trustee Emerita of Princeton University. Her commitment to the community has been acknowledged with numerous honors and awards including NAACP “100 Most Influential Blacks in CT”, “Achievement Award” from the Greater New York Chapter of Links and the Stamford “Citizen of the Year” Award.

The Community Foundation is in compliance with the Council on Foundations’ national standards, and has awarded over $185 million in grants to nonprofits in Fairfield County and beyond.
