“After nine prom seasons, we are excited to finally have a chapter in our neighboring state,” said Noel D’Allacco, Operation PROM founder and president .

D’Allacco started the organization in Westchester County in 2005. Operation PROM now has affiliate chapters in nine states with the opening of its Connecticut chapter.

Operation PROM’s original mission is to provide free prom dresses and tuxedos to low-income students. Now the organization also collects clothes for year-round donations of clothing, school supplies and scholarships to students who are sick, homeless or living in shelters.

Armand Perez, founder and president of Darien-based marketing firm the DigiMed Group, will serve as Chapter Director for Operation PROM Connecticut. DigiMed’s offices will serve as a base for the chapter, and its staff will volunteer their time to help Operation PROM.

“Prom is one of the most memorable nights of your senior year in high school,” says Perez. “We want to ensure that every student can have that memory regardless of their family’s financial status.”

To help get their efforts started Operation PROM is collecting slightly used dresses out of DigiMed’s offices. To donate a dress, donors can contact DigiMed Group by phone at 203-302-5707 or by email at media@digimedgroup.com. To learn more, visit the organization’s website.
