Business, World Affairs Programs Set For Greenwich Library

GREENWICH, Conn. — The Greenwich Library has scheduled two upcoming programs that deal with business and world affairs.

On Thursday, Feb. 12, the library will host the next installment of the ongoing SCORE Legal Series with a presentation on “Managing Legal Liability.”

The workshop will show how liability issues can haunt business owners, managers, executives and investors from a venture's beginning to its end, and how best to combat them

The event runs from 6 to 8 p.m., with registration beginning at 5:30 p.m.

The library's next program will take place on the evening of Monday, Feb. 23, at 7 p.m., another free World Affairs Forum program, this time with Hunter College history professor Manu Bhagavan.

Bhagavan will talk in the library's Cole Auditorium about “India and the Promise and Peril of Recent Elections in the World's Largest Democracy.”

His specialty is modern India, and he'll focus on the 20th-century late-colonial and post-colonial periods. The talk will include elements on human rights, nationalism and internationalism, and questions of sovereignty.
