RYE, N.Y. -- Looking for a fun, company challenge that provides healthy competition for employees of all ability levels? The Zoot Westchester Triathlon is proud to announce the addition of the Martin E. Franklin Corporate Challenge (MEFCC) to this year’s event, where corporate teams compete for the prize and privilege of sending 4 winners to participate in the esteemed 2017 Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon.

For companies looking to promote a healthy work-life balance, this September's Westchester County Triathlon offers just that.

The winning team will be based on an overall placement score in three categories: Individual Finisher, Relay Finisher and Fundraising.

“The Martin E. Franklin Corporate Challenge is an opportunity for colleagues to participate in a healthy, active and social atmosphere outside of the workplace,” says Debby Leonard, 2016 Westchester Triathlon Committee co-manager. “Not only does it build brand awareness through race-day and website logo placement, but it also fosters positive relationships among teammates and corporate opponents, and promotes a healthy workforce and work/life balance.”

To participate, companies must raise a $5,000 minimum, which includes race entry fees for up to eight employees. The corporate team can include a combo of solo competitors or relay teams, comprising three individuals: a swimmer, a cyclist, and a runner. Corporate teams benefit from exclusive amenities such as a VIP tent, concierge packet pick-up, and a separate transition area.

Every dollar raised in the MEFCC Corporate Challenge goes to Westchester Triathlon charity partners, including: MAC Angels, Challenged Athletes Foundation Team Red, White and Blue, War On ALS, Generation Ubuntu and Soul Ryeders. To assist with corporate social responsibility practices, each team can receive fundraising analytics, including fundraising allocation and the impact it will make on the recipient non-profit. “This is very beneficial documentation for your company’s social responsibility portfolio,” added Ms. Leonard.

The Martin E. Franklin Corporate Challenge is named in honor of Mr. Franklin, co-founder of Jarden and a long-term philanthropic supporter of the Westchester Triathlon. For more information or to register your team, contact zootwestchestertri@gmail.com or visit Westchester Tri's website.
