GREENWICH, Conn. -- Tuesday is the last day to buy premium tickets to the Greenwich Ballet Academy "First Snow" fundraiser.
The name was derived from the ballet academy’s first full "Nutcracker" performance in 2011, which incorporated the first act of the ballet, including the "Waltz of the Snow."
“First Snow” became a Greenwich Ballet Academy tradition after a snowstorm coincided with the event three years ago.
This year’s event will have cocktails and a dinner buffet that celebrates Russian culture as well as its impact on ballet and the "Nutcracker."
“For the past few years ‘First Snow’ has served as an exciting overture to The Nutcracker,” Yuri Vodolaga, the ballet’s artistic director, said in a statement. “It really amplifies the excitement surrounding the upcoming seasonal favorite.”
To attend the fundraiser contact Brooke Donatelli to have an invitation mailed to them at 914-305-4377 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Performances for this holiday favorite will begin on Dec. 7, with both performances will be held at Greenwich High School.
The Greenwich Ballet Academy teaches dancers, ages 4 to 21, in classical ballet and contemporary dance.
