Auditions are scheduled for Monday, Sept. 12, and Monday, Sept. 19, from 7-9:30 p.m.

Young men and women, ages 14-22, of moderate to advanced skill level are invited to join. Stamford Youth Chorus is a new level of musical excellence in arts education and the first of its kind in the tri-state area. Currently, no other organization in the area offers a youth chorus which also performs regularly with its own youth chorus.

In furthering SYAP’s mission, the new Stamford Youth Chorus offers its students performance opportunities of new and existing choral/orchestral repertoire in addition to other special endeavors. Stamford Youth Chorus seeks to augment current arts programs in the area, develop advanced musicianship and vocal skill, to create an intramural collaborative artistic community and foster personal growth through music.

Recently SYAP successfully debuted at Carnegie Hall. As Stamford Youth Chorus develops, similarly enriching and inspiring opportunities will be provided to its members.

The current rehearsal/concert schedule is Monday evenings at Westhill High School and features a December performance of Vivaldi’s Gloria with a selection of carols and holiday pieces. This inaugural program showcases Stamford Youth Chorus and the Young Artists Philharmonic Orchestra in performance with several very special guest artists and an adult guest chorus from Rome, Italy.
