In addition, Stamford artist Judith Steinberg and Silvermine faculty members Dan and Jill Burkholder will also exhibit beginning Jan. 7.

The new members of the Guild of Artists hail from across the region — from Brooklyn, N.Y., to Putney, Vt. Each was chosen for technical excellence, cultural or social relevance, style clarity and professional accomplishment.

The Fairfield County inductees are: Andrew Graham of Redding, Elizabeth Higgins and Meg Tweedy of Darien, Jesse Nusbaum of Weston and Robert Sachs of Norwalk.

Their exhibition will feature sculpture, printmaking, painting, drawing and mixed-media art.

Steinberg is known for her abstract sculpture, including her Corten-steel “Links” at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield.

Her Silvermine exhibit, “Memories and Desire,” will include recent works completed in the years since her husband’s death.

“Bits of flora and fauna began popping out here and there, soon demanding more space and definition,” she said. “When my world disappeared, a new world came to life in my studio.”

“Two of a Kind” features intriguing photography by the Burkholders. Dan Burkholder was among the first fine art photographers to champion digital technology and Jill Burkholder’s work includes handcrafted techniques, such as bromoil printing.

An opening reception for the three exhibitions will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 7, at Silvermine Arts Center, 1037 Silvermine Road. The exhibitions will be on display until Feb. 4.
