Greenwich's Ron Howard Checks Out Mystic Seaport Whaler

GREENWICH, Conn. -- Director Ron Howard of Greenwich took a tour of Mystic Seaport on Tuesday and checked out the vintage whaler Charles W. Morgan, which is undergoing a full restoration, according to TheDay.com.

Hollywood buzz has it that Howard is looking to direct a movie version of the National Book Award winner "In the Heart of the Sea: The Tragedy of the Whaleship Essex," according to the Vulture.com website. The book is described as a real-life "Moby Dick," and the events described were reportedly the inspiration for the classic Herman Melville novel.
