Stores displayed artist's work in their windows, up and down Greenwich and West Putnam avenues as the The Greenwich Art Council's traditional spring celebration held its opening night party.
Area bands and artists were also on hand along the avenues, and many stores served champagne, wine or appetizers to draw in the crowds.
Each May since 1998, with the overwhelming support of the Greenwich business community, the Arts Council turns Greenwich Avenue into a strolling gallery.
The art selected by the retailers remains in place through Memorial Day, so there is ample time for viewers to experience the “gallery” that downtown Greenwich becomes.
All the art on display is for sale, and a 30 percent tax deduction for the purchaser benefits GAC.
The art will be on display through May 29. For more information and a map of all the details, visit the event's website.
