GREENWICH, Conn. – Chef Nancy Allen Roper of Boxcar Cantina is on the move and  ready to cross state lines. The chef is poised to open another restaurant, TRUCK, later this summer, this time in Bedford, NY.

Boxcar’s locally sourced, sustainably raised menu items have been a hit in Greenwich for years.  Now TRUCK will allow Chef Roper to export her particular take on northern New Mexican fare to New York.  The early reports on TRUCK  seem to promise similar commitments to responsible food service, without sacrificing deliciousness.

Drawing on her childhood experiences growing up in New Mexico and eating along the famed Route 66, Roper's work usually encompasses a blend of New Mexican flavor and easy American comfort. With TRUCK, Roper seems to be trying to recreate some of that southwestern authenticity.

The word right now is that TRUCK will open its doors at 391 Old Post Road in Bedford sometime in mid-August. Which, Boxcar fans, means it’s just about time for a road trip. Look for more details to help you plan your trip to TRUCK on the restaurant's Facebook page, or here as information becomes available.
