Get Your 'Aardvark' Groove On In Greenwich

GREENWICH, Conn. – What would an aardvark dance to? Likely something a human being might enjoy as well. You can find out at Groove Performing Arts, which is bringing Music for Aardvarks and Other Mammals to Greenwich.

Free classes will be held Tuesday, Oct. 2 at the Bendheim Western Greenwich Civic Center, 449 Pemberwick Road for children six months through four years (accompanied by an actively participating adult). Weekly classes begin Tuesday, Oct. 9 and run through mid-December.

Music for Aardvarks is an alternative to traditional music classes for kids. Forty-five minute sessions feature original live music, dance breaks and instrumental jams led by musicians and educators. Music includes rock, blues, ballads, folk, jazz and pop, and is equally appealing both kids and parents.

The program was created in 1997 in Brooklyn, N.Y. by rock musician David Weinstone, and is gaining popularity in both the U.S. and Europe.

Make reservations for the free trial class online. Spots are limited and reservations are required. For more information, email Lesley Barovick.
