GREENWICH, Conn. -- The Garden Education Center of Greenwich is starting a new nature play group.

The Mushrooms Nature Play Group is a time for parents and caregivers to feel more confident exploring nature together with their little ones. It's a venue to socialize in nature, share their tips and concerns, and learn to gearing up safely for nature-based enrichment.

The GEC's Mushrooms is a part of the growing Natural Families Network at ChildrenandNature.org. Children & Nature Network was created to support people and organizations working worldwide to reconnect children and nature.

The group will do a micro nature hike, and set up some hands-on natural play items and resources. Recommended ages are up to and including age 3, with caregivers.

First meet up will be Wednesday, Sept. 3, from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Garden Education Center, 130 Bible St., Cos Cob.
