Dinner & A Show: Westport Chamber Series Makes Date Night A Cinch

The series kicks off Saturday, Jan. 27 with a concert by Dana Fuchs and a three-course meal at one of five popular downtown restaurants.

Here’s how it works: Participants buy a single ticket that covers both the 6 p.m. meal and the 8 p.m. concert at the Seabury Center. Diners can then return to any one of the five restaurants for post-concert drinks at happy hour prices.

Tickets are $75 per person.

“I think people are really going to enjoy this new concept and Dana is going to blow them away,” said Matthew Mandell, the chamber’s executive director.

A powerhouse singer who evokes Janis Joplin and Robert Plant, Fuchs prowls the stage and pours her heart into every song. The New Yorker will hit Westport in advance of her upcoming European tour.

The five restaurants involved in this collaboration are Amis, Boca, Rothbard, Spotted Horse and Tavern on Main, each within two blocks of the Seabury Center on Church Lane.

“What a great promotion for the area,” said Marc Murphy, manager of The Spotted Horse. “We were in the second it was pitched.”

Mar Jennings, the Westport-based TV host and lifestyle expert, is sponsoring the series.

The second event will take place in late March.
