Forty Nguyen surprised Luria by bringing her onstage, dropping to one knee and proposing, which Luria accepted.

"I was a little nervous," said Luria, who works for Westchester Circus Arts. "It felt like an eternity, I was standing on stage in front of this large audience."

It was a story that had come full circle for the couple, who met at Foxwoods two years ago, while on a bus. They struck up a conversation and bonded over both being circus performers. On their one-year anniversary, the couple also visited Foxwoods.

When they went back to Foxwoods to celebrate their two-year anniversary, Luria had a hunch something was up.

"He's not very good at keeping secrets," Luria said. "He kept asking if some of my friends could come to the show, which tipped me off a little."

Nguyen admits he's always had a flair for the dramatic.

"I've always wanted to do something cheesy and dramatic," Nguyen said. "I wanted to do a flashmob proposal, but I ran it by Amanda and she said no way. This was a compromise. Whatever it was going to be, it had to be something unique."

Leading up to the proposal, Nguyen said he was confident she would say yes. Luria said Nguyen is her best friend, even though he is currently based in Montreal while she's in Peekskill.

"I can talk to him about anything," Luria said. "We really keep the lines of communication open. There isn't a day that goes by that we don't talk to each other. We've had all these awesome experiences. I feel so complete when we're together."

"I believe that we really compliment each other," Nguyen added. "She is my other half. She is everything I am looking for in a woman. I am so thankful to have found her."

Both say they are happy to have found someone who works as a circus performer.

"I love my job, but it has its ups and downs," Nguyen said. "You live like a gypsy. It's hard to make roots. You're living out of a suitcase. She understands circus life and I can always come back and see her in Peekskill."

A wedding date has not yet been set, though Nguyen said he knows he has to do something big to top his proposal. For the wedding, Luria just has one rule.

"No flashmobs," Luria said.
