WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Good news, Westchester residents: The federal government's Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee is said to be dropping its long-standing warning about cholesterol consumption, according to reports.

The DGAC has said that residents should monitor cholesterol intake and limit it to 300mg per day since 1977, but they are prepared to drop that warning due to a lack of scientific evidence, The Verge reported. 

The DGAC, which updates its dietary recommendations every five years, is now concerned with citizens' regular under-consumption of vital nutrients like Vitamin D, Vitamin E, potassium, calcium, and fiber, The Verge said.
