Westport’s talented restaurateurs and their hungry guests gathered at the Westport Country Playhouse on the evening of Tuesday, February 8, to generate buzz for the upcoming Westport Restaurant Week. Presented by the Westport Weston Chamber of Commerce and the Playhouse, it was a tasty evening packed with samples of some of the most delicious dining Westport has to offer.

“All these restaurants contribute to the vibrancy of Westport and the broader community,” said Jenn Bond, the Community Relations Liaison for the Playhouse. “We’re so happy to support a week that celebrates dining out here.”

This week of dining deals begins February 27 and runs through March 5. Participating eateries will offer lunch for one for either $10.11 or $15.11, and dinner for one for either $20.11 or $30.11. The number of courses and drink inclusions will vary from place to place, and you’re sure to get a bargain wherever you go.

Throughout the evening, guests lined up to taste offerings from Bobby Q’s, Coromandel, Matsu Sushi and Rizzuto’s, while grooving to the mellow percussion sounds provided by Gerald Myles, a Norwalk musician.

The Matsu Sushi table was running out of their rolls almost as fast as they could put them on the platter.  Owner Paul Teoh said, “We’re very happy to participate in restaurant week,” but wouldn’t give up the goods on what specials they’ll be running. “We haven’t finalized the menu yet. We’ll know when we get closer.”

It might not be soon enough for Paul to finalize his menu, but you should definitely mark Westport Restaurant Week in your calendar. Look for specials at these restaurants:  Acqua Ristorante, Blue Lemon, Bobby Q’s, Bombay Club, Coromandel, DaPietro’s, La Villa Trattoria, Manolo, Mansion Clam House, Matsu Sushi, River House Tavern, Rizzuto’s, Splash, Tarantino’s and Tavern on Main.
