This year’s theme, “Beat the Board,” challenges Y staff versus board directors. Each team must acquire as many team points as possible by participating in games and relays based on some of the Y’s most popular activities.

The events kicks off at 1 p.m., when groups representing each team will compete in various swim, spin and boot camp challenges. Y volunteers will be on hand, tallying up points throughout the event and posting them on the Olympic Pool scoreboard.

At the end of the competition, all will gather on deck for an awards ceremony.

“We’re very excited to launch this new format of the Y Challenge,” says Bob DeAngelo, CEO of the YMCA of Greenwich. “It’s going to be a day filled with fun, fitness and teamwork all while supporting our Y.”

The YMCA is on track to offer over $500,000 in scholarship assistance, ensuring the community has access to important programs like youth swimming lessons, child care services and senior health initiatives.

The YMCA of Greenwich is 50 E. Putnam Ave.
