Monday, Aug. 6

Greenwich Chamber of Commerce's Annual Golf Outing: Open to all golfers. Lunch at 11:30 a.m., shotgun start at 1:30 p.m. Celebrity golfers include Howard Johnson, Bill Evans and Gary Dell’Abate. Griffith E. Harris Golf Course, 1300 King St., Greenwich.

Kids Movie Matinee: "The Adventures of Tintin." Free, 2 p.m.- 3:45 p.m. Byram Shubert Library, 21 Mead Ave., Greenwich. Hunger Games Trivia: For kids in 5-12 grade. Questions from the books and movie. Contestants compete with a Jeopardy-style game show buzzer system. 7 p.m.-  8:30 p.m., Greenwich Library, 101 West Putnam Ave.

Tuesday, Aug. 7

Greenwich Hospital Cooking Series: How to eat healthy without spending a lot of money. Participants get to taste dishes and bring home recipes. Registration required at 203-863-2939. Classes at 12 p.m. and 6 p.m., Weight Loss & Diabetes Center, 55 Holly Hill Lane, Greenwich

A Day in a Farmer's Life: Experience important farm tasks and what life is like on a farm. 2:30 p.m.- 3:30 p.m., Stamford Museum & Nature Center, 39 Scofieldtown Road, Stamford.

Wednesday, Aug. 8

Scrabble for Adults: All levels and newcomers invited; library provides game boards and dictionaries. Group meets second Wednesday of each month. 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Cos Cob Library, 5 Sinawoy Road, Greenwich.

Tricks and Treats: Help train and socialize our farm animals.2:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m., Stamford Museum & Nature Center, 39 Scofieldtown Road, Stamford.

Greenwich Board of Selectmen: Meeting at 10 a.m., Greenwich Town Hall, 101 Field Point Road.

It's All About the Apps: Class helps users get comfortable with mobile devices. Bring your own or use one of the library's. 10 a.m.-11:30 a.m., Greenwich Library, 101 West Putnam Ave.

'Audubon At Home' Nature Film Series: Film series features eco-documentaries on bird conservation, conservation heroes and the sustainable food movement. 6 p.m.-10 p.m., Audubon Greenwich, 613 Riversville Road, Greenwich.

Summer Chess Club: Chess master Rich Jackson gives instruction and supervises play. All ages, skill levels welcome. No registration required. 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m., Greenwich Library, 101 West Putnam Ave.
