GREENWICH, Conn. – Swim Across America, Shakespeare on the Sound and a triathlon to benefit Kids in Crisis are some of the events planned for the weekend.
Friday, June 29
Shakespeare on the Sound “Romeo and Juliet:" 7:30 p.m. Performances continue through July 8, but no performances July 2 or July 4. Blankets can be placed in the park beginning at 4 p.m. Picnics are welcome. Admission is free. Roger Sherman Baldwin Park, 100 Arch St.
Friends Friday Films Presents “Midnight in Paris:” 8 p.m. The 2011 film directed by Woody Allen stars Owen Wilson, Rachel McAdams, Marion Cotillard and Adrien Brody. As young couple visits Paris, an aspiring writer discovers a portal into the 1920s, where he rubs shoulders with Ernest Hemingway, Gertrude Stein, F. Scott Fitzgerald and Picasso. Admission is free. Doors open at 7:40 p.m. at Greenwich Library Cole Auditorium, 101 W. Putnam Ave.
Saturday, June 30
Swim Across America Greenwich-Stamford 8 a.m. The swim benefits the Alliance for Cancer Gene Therapy. Call 203-438-0313 or go online for more information. Participating swimmers must raise $500 for the half-mile and one-fifth mile swim. Registration is at 7 a.m. 96 Cummings Point Road, Stamford.
Constellation Chronicles for Kids: 11 a.m. to noon. Enjoy the legends and stories of the constellations in the Greenwich Library Children’s Constellation Room and make a craft to take home. For grades kindergarten to 2. Admission is free. Greenwich Library, 101 W. Putnam Ave.
“Intro to Jams and Pickles” Canning Class: 1 to 4 p.m. Admission is $60 for nonmembers and $50 for members. Call 203-869-6899 for more information. Greenwich Historical Society, 39 Strickland Road.
“Plant It & They’ll Come: Creating Bird-Friendly Landscapes:” 3 to 4 p.m. Presented by native landscape expert Kim Eirman. Admission is $10 for adults, free for youth. Audubon Greenwich, 613 Riversville Road.

Kids in Crisis Triathlon: 6:30 a.m. Allan Houston, Chris Thomas, Gov. Dannel Malloy and Stamford Mayor Michael Pavia host the Stamford Triathlon. Family festival is from 9 a.m. to noon. Cummings Beach, 96 Cummings Point Road, Stamford.
