Second Congregational Church Homecoming Weekend: 7:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. "From Tosca to Taylor" -- an evening of opera, Broadway, and other popular music -- will kick off the Homecoming Weekend on the Mead House lawn. Bring a picnic supper. Free. Second Congregational Church , 139 E. Putnam Ave.
Saturday, Sept. 7
Greenwich Choral Society Audition: 10 a.m. In celebration of its 90th season, the Greenwich Choral Society is holding auditions, including by appointment, for all voice parts. This season singing will be Britten’s St. Nicolas, Bush’s In Praise of Mary, Rossini’s Petite Messe Solonnelle, Dvorak’sTe Deum and Mendelssohn’s Die erste Walpurgisnacht. Free. Rally Sunday at RHCC: 10 a.m. The season opens at Round Hill Community Church. The children will be welcomed to the new Church School year as visitors can hear about the education programs, enjoy a picnic on the lawn, play games, have faces painted, and be entertained by a juggler. Greenwich Cop: 1 p.m. It is the Greenwich Club’s closing match of the season. There will be High Goal Polo, Rugby Match, Pet Parade, Divot Stomping, VIP Tent, Grandstand Boxes, Best Dressed Awards, Catered Lunch, Open Bars, Car Show, Children’s Playground, Cigar Lounge, Picnicking, Wild Horse Crazy Braids Contest and more.
