Weekend Events Set At Greenwich's Bruce Museum

GREENWICH, Conn. -- The Bruce Museum in Greenwich has released its schedule of upcoming weekend events.

On Saturday Aug. 31, the exhibit "Telling American History: Realism from the Print Collection of Dr. Dorrance T. Kelly," will open. The exhibit will feature 40 prints that span 62 years. The exhibit will run through Dec. 1.

On Sunday, Sept. 1, The Bruce will host two events: a first Sunday Bird walk from 9 to 11:30 a.m. and First Sunday Science will take a look at marine life from Long Island Sound at the Seaside Center from 1:30 to 4 p.m.

On Sunday Sept. 8, historians Yvonne Shia Klancko and Robert J. Klancko will speak on the Christian formal and folk art traditions that incorporate eggs or egg-shapes, including the iconography and wide variety of materials utilized.

Sunday, Sept. 15, will feature Margaret Rubega, associate professor of ecology and evolutionary biology at UConn and the Connecticut State Ornithologist, who will lecture on the wide variety and importance of avian eggs at 2 p.m.
