PELHAM MANOR, N.Y. Four boys were taken to the hospital after police said they were found highly intoxicated at one's home early Saturday morning.
Police found one of the boys at a corner outside his home without shoes and crying hysterically while clutching a street sign. He immediately told police that he and three of his friends were drunk and desperately needed medical attention.
Officers entered the home and found the other three boys in a similar state. They were highly intoxicated and the room contained "extreme amounts of vomit," according to the police report.
Police said the boys were barely coherent and could only answer the officers' requests for information with mumbles and groans.
One of the boys had a substantial amount of blood in and around his nose, chest, torso and arms. He apparently had broken blood vessels from vomiting so violently.
Police found a 1.75 liter bottle of Evan Williams bourbon in a blue backpack in the center of the room that allegedly belonged to one of the boys. Ninety percent of the bottle had been drunk.
Officers later learned from the other three boys that the fourth had supplied the alcohol.The parents of that boy then went down to the basement unaware of what had happened. They attempted to help the boys get into the ambulance.
Police notified the parents and told them to meet their children at the hospital. They told the parents what happened when they arrived and they all said they did not wish to pursue charges against the boy.
Officers could not determine where the boy acquired the alcohol. Police returned the four boys to their parents. They remained in the emergency room until they became sober.
