Greenwich Comedian To Perform At Stamford's Palace Theatre

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Winter got you down? Feel like you need to get out of hibernation and be entertained?

Get ready to dance with the ABBA band, ARRIVAL playing March 1 at Stamford's Palace.

The Palace Theatre in Stamford is brimming with a variety of events sure to please even the grouchiest among us. Mark your calendars for the following, including two featuring area performers from Bridgeport and Greenwich.

  • Feb. 26, Showcase 61: Bridgeport artist Michael Dunham sings songs from the late '60s and '70s in a club-like setting complete with craft beers and cocktails starting at 8 p.m.
  • Feb. 27, Uptown Showdown: Writers from "The Daily Show," "The Moth" and "The Onion" square off with other top-flight comedians in satirical debates and comedic conversations; starts at 8 p.m.

  • Select Sundays through April, Playtime at The Palace: Bring your kids for one-hour shows featuring puppets, bubbles, story pirates, silent movie slapstick and more.The series features nationally celebrated troupes and performers. Shows are at 3 p.m.
  • March 1 ABBA: Make this a ladies night with songs that get you up and dancing. ARRIVAL from Sweden is one of the world’s most popular and best-selling ABBA cover bands. Since its start in 1995, the band has toured in nearly 50 countries, including 33 states in the U.S.
  • March 6, Songbook Cabaret: Tony DeSare. DeSare has three Top 10 Billboard jazz albums under his belt and has been featured on the "CBS Early Show," NPR, NBC's "Today" show and more. Show is at 8 p.m.
  • March 13, Colleens of Comedy: Get ready to laugh with Greenwich's Jane Condon, who gears up for St. Patrick's Day with an array of jokes, many stemming from growing up "Boston Irish;" starts at 8 p.m.
  • March 21, Nobodies of Comedy: Some of the funniest comics are up and coming ones you have never heard of. Check out the viral contest on the Facebook page for the Palace. Showtime is at 8 p.m.
