GREENWICH, Conn. -- The town’s very own marching, concert and high-society band will close out this year's concert series at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park in Greenwich.
The Sound Beach Community Band will be performing from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 25. The band consists of 40 local musicians who play a number of different popular songs, marches, classical pieces and show tunes.
Guests are invited to bring a picnic dinner and a blanket, and join fellow Greenwich residents for a night of music under the stars.
Since 1955, The Sound Beach Volunteer Fire Department Band has been a summer tradition in Greenwich, providing marching music for members of The Sound Beach Volunteer Fire Department at area firemen's parades, as well as performing evening concerts at public parks all over town.
For rain information, call the Department of Parks and Recreation at 203-861-6100 after 4 p.m. the day of the concert. The rain date is Aug. 26. For more information, visit www.greenwichct.org .
