Then an event organized by a Greenwich woman and her sister is for you.
Annie Schreck, of Greenwich, and Mary Slaugenhoup are organizing a consignment sale in Fairfield County. Their company, tinyTots Consignment, has been enabling the exchange of high-end children's clothes and goods for the the past two years in Stamford and they will host the Greenwich sale from 5-9 p.m. Aug. 23 and 9-11 a.m. and 1-3 p.m. Aug. 24 at 471 North St. at Greenwich Catholic School.
Approximately 100,000 items are expected to exchange hands at the marketplace, with consignors earning 70 percent of the sale price, which is more than traditional consignment outfits offer. Better yet, consignors set their own prices for items.
Items that are stained, torn or extremely worn are not accepted. Shoppers can expect to see savings between 50-70 percent or more off. The sale also is during the state's tax-free week on clothing and footwear.
The sisters will take care of all of the sales with the help of volunteers, who, in return, get to shop first for the best deals a day or two before the general/ public sale. There also will be a pre-sale for new moms and grandmothers Aug 22.
At the end of the sale, a large number of items are given to charity if the consignors choose to do so. The charities, based in Fairfield County, help teen moms, single moms and low-income families.
