GREENWICH, Conn. – The Greenwich Library will be hosting the New Yorker Discussion Group this fall, a six-week series of lively discussions about the articles, covers, poems and cartoons in current issues of The New Yorker.
The series will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. beginning Friday, Sept. 18, in the library's meeting room.
Registration is required. Please use the library’s online calendar to register. Space is limited to 20 participants. Contact Laura Matthews at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information or call 203-622-7914.
The scope of discussions will include politics, finance, medicine, the law, contemporary culture, profiles, food, travel, fiction and humor. Readers also will talk about the humorous Talk of the Town piece, an exploration of the Cronut or the magazine's illustrations.
At the end of each two-hour session, a new issue of The New Yorker will be distributed and participants will vote for the articles they wish to discuss at the next meeting.
