GREENWICH, Conn. – Shoppers packed Greenwich Avenue and browsed a variety of deals during the Chamber of Commerce's Greenwich Sidewalk Sale Days on July 13.

From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Sunday, deal-seekers can head to downtown Greenwich to purchase jewelery, clothing, hair products and gifts from participating businesses.

Loide Polli was attending the Design By Girls tent that's owned by her sister, Marley Fukumori. The Rye Brook, N.Y.-based store is participating in the event for the first time, but Polli said she and her sister have visited Greenwich Avenue before.

"It's the hottest place, literally, in Connecticut, so we wanted to come here," Polli said.

Design By Girls sells lightweight jewelery and beads from the Amazon, which were on sale for $18. Polli said that business was going well, and they'll be there until the end of the event on Sunday.

Promoting Greenwich's Becker Salon and their new hair product, Kerastase, stylist Sandra Hidalgo said she was enjoying the event and will probably participate next year because business has been going well.

"The salon is amazing," she said. "And I think this product is the best."

Hidalgo also was selling blow dryers, straighteners and brushes for the salon with her  fellow stylist, Alexandra Toro.

At upscale clothing store LF, store stylist Amanda Barkin said there has been a lot of foot traffic, and she and her associates were able to help customers and get them excited about the deals. Maxi dresses have been their hottest item, and were priced at $28. These dresses would normally go for more than $100, Barkin said.

"They're flying off the shelves, even though they're last year's styles," Barkin said.

As 6 p.m. approached and people were leaving with their purchases, one shopper and her daughter browsed higher-ticket items.

"Look, it's only $600," she said.
