SWAT Standoff Ends With Weapons Seized In Union

Authorities said they seized several weapons after an hours-long SWAT standoff in Union ended peacefully Monday night.

The home on Arnet Avenue off Morris Avenue was evacuated of family members in the standoff, which began around 7:40 p.m. with a report of a man armed with a shotgun barricaded inside, responders said.

The Union County Emergency Response Team, which includes SWAT team members and negotiators, joined police, firefighters and EMTs.

The incident reportedly ended around 11 p.m.

No injuries were immediately reported.
