More Arrests at Somers Lincoln Hall

SOMERS, N.Y. -- Two student arrests have been made at Lincoln Hall in relation to an attack on a fellow resident. Khalil Mann, 16, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with 2nd Degree Assault. Another unnamed young man, a youth under 16 years of age, was also charged. Mann was remanded to the Westchester County Jail and is summoned to appear at the Somers Town Court at 5:30 p.m. on August 8. The other boy was transferred to Woodfield Cottage and was arraigned in Westchester County Family Court. According to Investigating Officer Cornelius Merritt of the Somers New York State Police Barracks, the incident occurred on July 23 but was not reported to the police until the July 26. He said the reason for the delay is unknown. The victim was left with a broken jaw and broken nose. It remains unclear whether or not this latest event is related to a June 30 incident, involving an assault by several students upon another, requiring hospitalization of the victim. Six arrests have already been made regarding that attack. Officer Merritt did confirm that the latest victim had been implicated in a previous incident, but could not indicate the specific event.The following items were also reported by local police:•  Katrina Moxley, 22, of Amawalk, was stopped for vehicle and traffic violations on Mahopac Avenue at about 11 p.m. on Saturday. A breath sample indicated a BAC of 0.13 percent. She was charged with DWI. She is summoned to appear in Somers Town Court on August 15 at 5:30 p.m.•  On Thursday, Somers Police received a report of suspicious activity at an abandoned home on Route 139 in Somers. Upon arrival at the scene, police said they discovered two men, John J. O’Brien, of Shrub Oak and Christopher J. Riechers, of Mahopac, in the process of stripping the building of metal pipes and wires. The men allegedly intended to sell the metal as scrap material.Both men were arraigned at Bedford Town Court and remanded to Westchester County Jail. They are scheduled to appear at Somers Town Court on Monday, August 8 at 5:30 p.m.
