Driver of mail truck that snapped Bogota utility pole says he lost brakes

ONLY ON CVP: The driver of a box truck hauling mail that slammed into a utility pole in Bogota late this afternoon told police he lost his brakes.

The 54-year-old Petrillo Trucking driver declined medical attention after the crash brought down wires and debris on River Road, emergency responders told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

Bogota police, firefighters and EMS workers were among those at the scene.

“The road will probably be shut for hours while they get in a new pole and restring the wires,” Detective Capt. James Sepp told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.
