Numce Iloski, 28, of Bogota, rang the bell at a South Street home, near the Teaneck border, then walked around to the back Monday afternoon, Bogota police told the web site.
Sgt. Daniel Maye responded to a resident’s call and was out front when Iloski emerged, Detective Geoffrey Cole said.
Other officers arrived and found a broken basement window, he said.

Interviewed by Detective Jonathan Misskerg, Iloski admitted breaking into the house, as well as trying to enter another residence earlier, Cole told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.
Iloski is being held on $15,000 at the Bergen County Jail, charged with burglary and conspiracy to commit burglary.
