WILTON, Conn. The Wilton Blue sixth-grade football team finished its regular season Sunday with a 12-0 victory over Westport South.
Wilton's is now 5-1-1, and is seeded fourth for the Fairfield County Football League playoffs, which begin this weekend. Wilton has a first-round bye, and will play its first playoff game on Nov. 3.
Wilton posted its third shutout of the season, and second straight, in the win over New Canaan. Wiltons top players included Kyle Phillips, Jake Stein, Sean Travers, Cole Barnes, Reilly Bingaman, Liam Sullivan, Tyler Previte, Andrew Luciano and Matt Graham.
The team is coached by Bill Ronk and Chris Previte, who led Wilton to the fifth-grade championship in the league last fall. Wiltons only loss this year is a 21-0 loss to Darien Blue. It also tied New Canaan Black. Wilton would not see either team until the finals, if it gets that far. The teams first playoff opponent will be the winner of a game Saturday between Wilton White and Weston.
