WESTPORT, Conn. A two-alarm fire was reported at Westports Saugatuck Congregational Church Sunday night around 10:15. The Post Road is closed between Imperial Avenue and Compo Road until further notice.
The more than 179 year-old church is located at 245 Post Road E. According to emergency dispatches, firefighters have been ordered to evacuate the church. Mutual aid has been requested from Fairfield and Norwalk fire departments.
The rear roof has reportedly collapsed.
