Man Charged With Heroin Possession in Westport

WESTPORT, Conn. – A 20-year-old Orange man was arrested on drug charges after Westport police went to Walgreens at 1870 Post Road East on Thursday in response to a report of a suspicious car and person.

There was no front license plate and the one on the rear was loosely attached over a different license plate, police said. Warner, who did not have identification, was taken into custody.

While at police headquarters, he was searched and found in possession of a syringe that tested positive for heroin, police said. Warner was charged with possession of a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia, conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny, sixth-degree larceny and misuse of plates.

He was originally held on a $5,000 bond but later released on a promise to appear in court on Nov. 14 by the bail commissioner.
