Man Stabbed at Roodner Court

A man who was stabbed Thursday in a hallway at Roodner Court said he did not know his assailant and had done nothing to provoke him.

Norwalk Police were called to Building 18 at 6:15 p.m. They found the 21-year-old victim sitting on a chair in his friend's apartment, struggling to breathe and speak. He had a stab wound in the middle of his chest and several on his side, but there was little blood. He said he had been stabbed with an ice pick-like weapon.

The victim and his 27-year-old friend had returned to her apartment and found a man in a nook near the door. The man was wearing a black hoodie tight around his face, but the woman said she didn't think much of him. She also said she hadn't realized the door shut behind her, leaving the victim alone in the hall with the suspicious man.

A minute or two passed and she heard a scuffle in the hall. She opened the door the find the victim and the assailant struggling and yelled at them to stop. A neighbor said she had also heard the fight and someone say "stop." She also heard someone yell, "Woody."

The victim was transported to Norwalk Hospital. Both the victim and his friend agreed on a description of the attacker: a white or Hispanic man, approximately 5-foot 7-inches tall with a medium build.
