Events will include dining, dancing, and competing for live and silent auction prizes. Music will be performed by the band ETA. Shelter for the Homeless co-founder Patricia Phillips will be honored for her commitment to the shelter for the past 30 years.
“This extraordinary gala provides the community with an entertaining evening that really makes a difference to those that are homeless,” said Rafael Pagan Jr., executive director. “Because the shelter serves the entire lower Fairfield County region, guests will come away feeling inspired, knowing that they’ve helped those who need it most in their own community.”
Event proceeds will directly benefit the Pacific House emergency men's homeless shelter. Located at 597 Pacific St. in Stamford, the shelter operates every day of the year, 24 hours per day, feeding and housing up to 100 or more men per night.
In 2015 the shelter served more than 50,000 meals and provided 25,000 bed-nights. Additionally, the shelter offers case management services, access to healthcare, and programs such as workforce development, recovery program, and job readiness training. Shelter case managers work with each individual that comes to the shelter to help them reach the goal of obtaining housing and becoming more self-sufficient. The shelter serves Fairfield County, including Greenwich, Stamford, Darien, New Canaan and beyond.
