If the rainy forecast becomes severe, a cancellation notice will be made at 8 a.m. Monday, the department said on Facebook.

"In the event of severe weather, a memorial service will still take place in Binney Park," the Facebook post said.

The parade is scheduled to step off at 10 a.m. Monday from the fire department, continue down Sound Beach Avenue, and end at Binney Park, where a ceremony will be held.

"Join us at our firehouse after the parade for a good old American BBQ," a Facebook post said.

The National Weather Service is calling for rain to begin falling overnight. There is an 80 percent chance of rain before 9 a.m. Monday, with more rain, patchy fog and possibly a thunderstorm through 3 p.m. across Fairfield County.
