GREENWICH, Conn. -- Géza Röhrig, lead actor in the Oscar-winning drama "Son of Saul," will participate in a question-and-answer session following a screening of the film on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Bow-Tie Cinemas in Greenwich.
The film follows Saul Ausländer, a Hungarian member of the Sonderkommando, the group of Jewish prisoners isolated from the Auschwitz concentration camp and forced to assist the Nazis in the machinery of large-scale extermination. While working in one of the crematoriums, Saul discovers the body of a boy he takes for his son.
As the Sonderkommando plans a rebellion, Saul decides to carry out an impossible task: save the child's body from the flames, find a rabbi to recite the mourner's Kaddish and offer the boy a proper burial.
It will cost $15 to see the winner of a 2015 Academy Award, Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Film and Grand Prix at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival.
Audience members can also attend the entire series, of which this is only one session, for $118.
