Greenwich Library To Host App Sessions

GREENWICH, Conn. — If using applications on your iPad, Kindle or Android seems overwhelming, Greenwich Library's Technology Training Center will be holding easy-to-understand sessions aimed at demystifying this technology.

During All About The Apps, patrons will learn how to use apps in their daily lives from librarians who are experts on finding the most useful and entertaining apps available, according to a library statement. The sessions are free and run for eight weeks, starting Tuesday, July 17, and kicking off with the social-networking apps program.

"Due to the proliferation of iPads, we wanted to do a program on applications because we noticed that searching for them was difficult for any user, myself included. We also realized that some people don't understand what apps are and how to use them," said Training Librarian Jasmine Posey. "Through this series, we hope to give our patrons some insight into the world of apps."

Featured four times throughout the month is the Apps for Apple sessions, which will provide tips for navigating the Apple App Store efficiently, according to a statement. For Greenwich food lovers, the Eats Apps program will be offered Aug. 10 and feature apps for all things food-related, including restaurants, cooking and recipes.
