Greenwich Library Programs Focus On Financial Planning

GREENWICH, Conn. -- This month, Greenwich Library patrons can learn how to manage their assets, plan for retirement and become more tax savvy during two family financial planning presentations.

Business owners will enjoy a SCORE program led by Shannon Daniels.

Programs are open to all at no charge and are in the library's meeting room, unless otherwise indicated. Experienced librarians are available to help you navigate the library’s extensive business databases, directories, investor information and nonprofit resources, via e-mail or in person. The session include:

  • Tax Planning: Wednesday, March 2 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. This session will review essential federal and state income tax concepts, such as adjusted gross vs. taxable income and progressive vs. alternative minimum tax, with the goal of implementing a tax-efficient family financial plan. Presenter, Holly Cao, CFA, TransAmerica Financial Advisors. 
  • Asset Allocation and Retirement Planning: Thursday, March 10 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. This session will give an overview of major asset classes, key investment parameters and how they are relevant to retirement planning. We will illustrate the importance of disciplined investment approach, including the use of indexed strategies, tax efficiency for taxable investors, and rebalancing. Presenter, Holly Cao, CFA, TransAmerica Financial Advisors. 
  • E-mail Marketing Strategies: Monday, March 14 at 2 p.m. E-mail marketing is a powerful way to get in front of prospects, develop relationships, build trust and generate revenue. The basics of e-mail marketing will be taught in this technology training center sponsored program. Instructor, Noelle Gross. 
  • SCORE Reach your Business Goals with a Healthy Work Life Balance: Wednesday, March 16, 6-8 p.m. This workshop will be led by Shannon Daniels, owner of Water Yourself Health & Life Coaching. For more information, call SCORE at 203-831-0065.
