Greenwich Library Hosts Talk On Horseneck Neighborhood

GREENWICH, Conn. – As part of efforts to examine the historic communities and neighborhoods of Greenwich, the Greenwich Library and Historic Society will hold a local history series this summer and fall.

The talks, which begin Saturday, will cover Byram, Glenville, Horseneck, Cos Cob and Old Greenwich.

The series will be conducted as follows in the Greenwich Library at 2 p.m.:

  • July 13 – Historian Davidde Strackbein discusses the Horseneck neighborhood.
  • Sept. 21 – “Unofficial Mayor of Cos Cob” Lou Caravella presents the history of Cos Cob.
  • Oct. 19 – Author and historian Missy Wolfe presents the history of Old Greenwich.
  • Nov. 2 – Town Planner Diane Fox wraps up the series with a discussion on the role of planning and zoning in the development of Greenwich.
