The event will be from 3-5 p.m. Wednesday at the Smilow Cancer Hospital, 77 Lafayette Place, second floor.

TrueBeam from Varian is a radiation therapy delivery system to help fight cancer.

This equipment treats moving targets with advanced speed and accuracy, leading to shorter patient treatment times while reducing the possibility of movement during therapy and patient discomfort.

TrueBeam has a larger field size, streamlined imaging and patient positioning tools that enable more flexibility.

The advanced radiation therapy system can treat cancer anywhere in the body, including lung, breast, prostate and the head and neck region.
