Greenwich Hospital Presents Community Health Events

GREENWICH, Conn. -- Blood-pressure screening is among events scheduled for Greenwich Hospital's community health events in March.

Here is a rundown of some events:

  • TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly): Meets Mondays (excluding federal holidays) from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at 900 King Street (ground floor) in Rye Brook. Through weigh-ins, mutual support and education about healthy lifestyle choices, TOPS members work to achieve and maintain a healthy weight. Sponsored by Community Health at Greenwich Hospital. For more information, visit www.tops.org or call 203-863-4444.
  • The Nurse Is In: A nurse is on site to take blood pressure readings and answer health questions from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Rye YMCA (sponsored by Community Health of Fairchester, affiliated with Greenwich Hospital), and from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Greenwich Library Health Information Center (sponsored by Community Health at Greenwich Hospital).   • ENCORE at the YWCA: This YWCA program for women who have had breast-cancer surgery includes group discussions to identify and share common concerns, as well as floor and swimming exercises. If you are three weeks or more postoperative and have your physician’s permission, join us at 12:30 p.m. at the YWCA of Greenwich, 259 E. Putnam Ave. If you would like a buddy for your first time or more information, call 203-869-6501, ext. 131.
