The event will be from 1:30-4:30 p.m., rain or shine, at 516 Lake Ave. Admission is $35 for adults, $10 for children ages 4-12 and free for children 3 and younger. Advance reservations are required. Refreshments, wine, beer and cider are included in the price of admission.
Kids will have the chance to get up close and personal with the farm's animals, enjoy a scavenger hunt, make pressed cider, explore the fossil garden and enjoy nature crafts and activities on the lawn.
Adults can take a tour focusing on horticulture, led by noted landscape designer Florence Boogaerts, or a tour concentrating on the property's history, cultural landscape and collections, led by long-time farm resident Jacek Nidzgorski.
Artists may set up their easels during the event, and visitors are welcome to take photographs, but permission to publish photos must be obtained from Friends of French Farm.
French Farm has a unique place in Greenwich's historic landscape. It is comprised of the remaining 4-acre heart of a 35-acre residential farm originally built between 1905-10 by AIA President H. Van Buren Magonigle for Mary Billings French. It was the first Greenwich property listed on the National Register of Historic Places and also is a designated Local Historic Property.
