Six-year-old Quinn, who wished to go to the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio, and Connor, 10, who wished to go on a Mediterranean cruise, will be joined by more than a dozen other Wish Kids from the area at the event. The kids plan to visit with guests and share their stories during the dinner, which starts at 6 p.m. at the Greenwich Country Club in Greenwich.

Another special guest of the evening is John Crowley, former national Make-A-Wish board chair and a Wish Dad whose story inspired the film "Extraordinary Measures," starring Brendan Fraser and Harrison Ford.

The Celebrating Wishes Ball will include dinner, dancing, a live and silent auction and the chance to contribute to the Make-A-Wish cause. The hope is to raise enough money to surpass the record-setting 240 wishes granted in 2016, organizers said.

In the 30 years of existence, Make-A-Wish Connecticut has granted over 2,700 wishes for children who are suffering from life-threatening illnesses, officials said.

“This event alone is one of the reasons why we are able to grant so many wishes,” said Pam Keough, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish Connecticut. “Because of the generosity of our sponsors and donors we are able to be where we are today, and for that, we are all extremely thankful.”

For tickets, table, sponsorship information or to view the online auction, visit the event's website or call 877-203-WISH.

Make-A-Wish Foundation of Connecticut grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. To learn more, visit the website or find the organization on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
