Each May, the council turns Greenwich Avenue into a strolling gallery. One of the largest and most exciting festivals organized, the opening will be from 5:30-8 p.m. Thursday, May 7. The evening will include musicians, street performers and most stores hosting receptions for hundreds of visitors who attend to preview the work of more than 120 artists.
The art selected by the retailers remains in place through Memorial Day, so there is ample time for viewers to experience the “gallery” that downtown Greenwich becomes. All the art on display is for sale, and a 30 percent tax deduction for the purchaser benefits Greenwich Arts Council.
If you are an artist and would like to participate in Art to the Avenue 2015, e-mail Cathie Fuhrmann at cathief@greenwicharts.org.
